electrical circuit is not working. replaced breaker. circuit goes from panel under ground to service location?
detached building is supplied from a sub panel (pool panel). Wire goes under ground to the barn, j-box slits to receptacles and then to switch box for lights. Have not hooked up lights, but receptacles are connected and no poser to the receptacles. Replaced the breaker, it used to trip the breaker over and over due to moisture getting in the old j-box.
Breakers trip for a reason. Period. If the breaker has continued to trip over and over because of "moisture getting in" the box then this is a problem that should have been addressed long ago.
That said, If the breaker is staying closed (on) then you need to check with a voltage meter and see if there is any power at the detached building. Don't use a digital meter but instead a "wiggy" or a solenoid meter. Simply put, digitals can lie and you need to know the truth.
If there is power there, then obviously the problem is not in the feed to the building. If there is no power there then more than likely the last breaker trip was the wire burning in two as it had been over heated one too many times.
My suggestion would be to install new wire, either in conduit or rated for underground service (UF) and install a new WEATHERPROOF box that moisture can't get into.
