Why and how to backwash a pool filter?
I am a new pool owner (an intex above ground), and I read somewhere that I need to backwash my fliter. What is the purpose of that, and how the heck do I do it? Will cleaning the filter do the same thing or does it have to be backwashed? Thanks!
I own a pool business so I know what I'm talking about. You can only backwash sand filters and I'm 95% positive you have a cartridge filter. So you can't backwash. No worries though, you can take the filter out and hose it off. Or for better results soak it in a filter cleaner. Soaking it once a season should be plenty.
